Third summer with an Intex fifteen'x42" pool. Been having trouble with the inflatable band holding air. Patched a few holes I found and it was belongings for nearly ii days before I needed to add more air. This morning time I woke up to a minor inundation in the backyard. The ring was completely apartment and collapsed and water was pouring out over the border. I filled with air and it went flat again in near 30 minutes...the problem is the actual valve stem wont seal. Any ideas? I am merely going to use this pool this summer....was thinking of just filling the ring with spray foam.......think this will work?

Spray cream would work if you could become it to completely make full the band. You'll have a lot of voids. That can be overcome but plenty foam to fill up the ring is going to cost a lot.

It'd never cure unless it's exposed to air. You lot'd cease upward with a circular tube of goo, and If it doesn't expand, it won't exist bouyant.

If you can find which part of the valve stem is leaking air yous could mucilage it. Maybe this would work, inflate the ring and wrap the valve in duct tape and see if it holds. I wonder if taping jumbo pool noodles to the top would agree the walls up?

I suspected that my valve was the source of the leak. I had an old spark plug boot laying around and stuck in in place of the plastic plug. It fits tight. Unfortunately im still losing air :(

Well I can exist stubborn and so I tried the spray cream approach. I bought 2 cans of it for $5.00 each at Abode Depot. I cut a modest hole into the band and emptied the can. It really worked pretty well. Information technology expanded and cured ok but one tin merely filled mayhap an 18" section of the ring. It would be about the same price to but buy a new puddle.

Non wanting to surrender on the pool withal, I took a visit to the local .99 Cent Store and bought 20 four-human foot long foam noodles. I cut slits into the ring and stuffed the noodles inside....they were 3 deep all the fashion around. I then used blue duct record to embrace my incisions. Well if aesthetics are of import to yous, I would non go this route. If functionality is, however, information technology worked similar a charm. My pool is back in order with no fear of the ring collapsing and water spilling out. This will become me thru the summer and then I'll popular for another pool for adjacent year.

Assuming they do the same as last yr....Large Lots put their leftover pools on sale at 75% off last yr once summer was over. I should have bought a new one so...hopeful to observe a deal this yr.

FYI....our pool is a fourteen'x42" Intex

Our ring keeps losing air an I plant a tear in the seam of the air valve stem. I have tried the pool sealers to seal it off, only to no avail. I am going to endeavor articulate silicone. I assume that this tear comes from the NUMEROUS amount of times we take had to pull the stem out to air up the ring. I too, live in Texas with all of it's blistering heat and so nosotros have to air our ring up everyday.

I accept an Intex with a modest hole in air band. I take repaired it 6 times with the kit that came with the pool. It holds air until the sun gets hot so the glue gets soft and the patch lifts letting out the air. Can I utilise an inner tube patch or am I just out of luck? I don't know what else to do.

My outer ring goes flat 30 mins after blowing it up but the primal to not losing whatsoever water is to keep your h2o level below the band and you lot wont have anymore problems. I simply fill the air when always i feel similar it just if the h2o levels kept below the band you lot tin swim effectually fifty-fifty when its flat.

if y'all cant discover the leak just lower the water level just below the band and you wont lose any water and you can nonetheless swim effectually even when its flat simply dont lean on the sides. mine goes apartment xxx mins. after inflation.

Third summer with an Intex 15'x42" pool. Been having trouble with the inflatable band holding air. Patched a few holes I institute and information technology was holding for about 2 days earlier I needed to add more air. This morning I woke up to a small flood in the backyard. The ring was completely flat and collapsed and h2o was pouring out over the border. I filled with air and it went flat once again in about 30 minutes...the problem is the actual valve stem wont seal. Any ideas? I am simply going to employ this pool this summer....was thinking of just filling the ring with spray foam.......think this will work?
i likewise lost water in one case so i lowered the water level below the ring and it continues to go flat but i nonetheless swim and still have all my water. Im wondering if theres something like a spray on plastic blanket we could spray the intire band with. wouldnt that be cool ?

I simply institute a ane" tear in the band of my 42"/xv' (14'?) puddle. I've got an inflatable toy ring under it with the chlorinator floaty in the middle, an viii" round hat from an empty container on pinnacle of that just under the pool ring for support, a small oval patch over the tear, and a roughly 5 -6 " square patch over that, with another lid & a container with water on it for weight. If I tin get the residue of this flavor out of this pool I'll exist happy. I'll post how well it works once I find out. :apathetic:

Fingers crossed...

EDIT: Most 24 hours and it seems to be belongings! :whoot:
Edit #ii: Irene put some other crack in the ring. Information technology is faded and brittle, this is the final flavor for this pool, I'm afraid.

What actually works if I experience air coming from the valve? Do I perhaps need a bigger plug? Duct tape effectually the one I accept? (Gotta honey duct tape!) Silicone (light coating) around the current plug? Please answer or electronic mail me at [email protected].

I gave up on patching this stupid ring. At showtime I had ready a reminder in my telephone to reinflate information technology everyday. But that was tedious. Being an X10 home automation fanatic, I figured it shouldn't be too difficult to rig up an auto-inflator using the electrical inflator that came with the set. I plugged the inflator hose into the band and duct-taped it shut. Nonetheless later on an inflation all the air leaks back out of the inflator after information technology shuts off.
So I went to Lowes and bought some 5/8" clear tubing and a one/two" pvc check valve. The check valve is spring-loaded and just allows air to flow in i direction. Amazingly everything fit snugly without much hassle. I cut off the little blackness inflator nozzle and pushed information technology virtually a quarter of an inch into the tube. Then plugged information technology into the ring and taped all around it really proficient.
Finally I ready a timer with X10 to turn on the pump every hour and run for thirty seconds. So now I have a DIY pool band auto inflator.
I will endeavor to include some pictures, deport with me this is my first mail.

Spectacular, I thought of doing the aforementioned but using a normally airtight force per unit area switch. Pressure level drops switch turns on. Glad to see someone else with a similar idea. I didn't think of the check valve. Gonna accept to get one of those now. Brilliant...

The pressure switch..

My air ring started leaking when we had a rut wave with temps at 106 for 4 to five days. I take done the lather test & found the air valve was leaking so I cleaned the area & no more bubbles just it is even so leaking air somewhere. I have washed the chimera test
all over the ring & I did the air pressure thing for the inside of the ring. Idea of information technology on my own. No leak found just ring is yet leaking. It is driving me insane and this is only the second year. I would supersede just the pool itself because everything else is fine only I tin can't notice just a 16x42 pool. I take the saltwater organisation & love information technology. Exercise you take Any suggestions? I don't accept a stestascope(?).
